Here's something interesting.

It's a flash movie with the ED theme, "Sakasama no Niji" from Lodoss Tou Senki: Chronicles of the Heroic Night. That anime was a piece of crap, but Arai did compose that song and the flash animation itself is interesting. Check it out.

HMV Japan, CDJapan, and YesAsia have released a tracklisting of Arai's newest album, "sora no uta."

There are no real "new songs" on this album. This first track is a self-cover based on the melody Arai wrote for "Ningyohime," which was the ending theme for Chobits. However, there are three songs on this album worth mentioning: "Utsukushii Hoshi" - unlike the other tracks, this is be a completely different version. If you have seen Arai in concert, you would know that sometimes, the songs which she plays in concert are dramatically different than what you find on the albums themselves.

Also: track eight, "Silent Stream" is a rather obscure song from off of a manga soundtrack, "XAXZA: Your Own Personal Number." In the original album, "Silent Stream" and the song which follows "Gin no Shounen" actually run together, not to mention the fact that the characters from the album are having conversations throughout both pieces. The version found on "sora no uta" removes the conversations and has a slightly different arrangement.

Regardless, if you buy the special edition version, the DVD of her last concert at Yokohama will make up for this massive re-release songs, which for the most part we can find on many other albums.

Akino Arai Archive is back up and running after nearly two years of down time. There is much that needs to be said, so I'll try to make sure that I get to everything. I shall first discuss the website itself. The biggest change visitors will discover is the fact that the discography now encompasses more than just a list of all Arai's releases. It also directly links to song lyrics and any liner notes (if applicable). There are also new sections, album additions, as well as concert listings.

Arai has also released a number of albums during the past two years:

For more information on these albums, please consult the discography.

In addition to those albums listed above, Arai released another album, "sora no uta" in November; it features "best hit" songs, previously unreleased tracks, and "self-cover" songs (songs which she originally wrote for other artists, but now sings herself). This new album has a regular edition, as well as a limited edition, containing a DVD, which has clips from Arai's most recent concerts.

Speaking of which... Arai has been on several tours during AAA's absence: one for RGB and more recently, her "sora no uta" concerts. You can find song information in the discography section.

More updates to come. I thank you for your patience during AAA's transition.

Site FAQ

Q: What's this site for?
A: I doubt that you came here by accident. You know why you've come here: you like Arai's music, but can't find any sites about her in English. The purpose for this site, then, is pretty self-explanatory.

Q: I've been visiting AAA since it first opened; it really sucked back then. It still does.
A: Indeed, though that is not so much a question as it is a fact. However, the site sucks for reasons different than back then. The site sucks right now because I don't know HTML, etc as a whole, so I've finally decided to just keep things as simple as possible. The site sucked back then because I was young and did not know any better: Huge backgrounds, moving backgrounds, small font, other annoyances, etc. I've grown up since then. And FYI, the layout features pictures from Eden advertisements. The background is from Pootato.org.

Q: Who are you?
A: My name is Kimiko H. That is all the relevant information you need to know about me.

Q: I want to ask you something. How can I contact you?
A: If you have any questions related to Akino Arai or need to contact me, email me at my hotmail account: k1_m1_k0. If you can't figure out what my email address is, then, you're probably not the type of person I'd want emailing me anyway.

Q: Lyrics!
A: If you are emailing me about lyrics, take note: I do not take requests. I translate what I want, when I want. However, I do take scan donations, or if you feel that you are competant in Japanese, I also take translation donations, but make sure that what you are sending are translations. I do not need transriptions or transliterations.

Q: Where can I find more information on Akino Arai?
